Outgoings and Incomings for October

Hi all. What you're going to see next is a long list of my outgoings and incomings for October 2014. I didn't have the time to update half of it because I was having my exams and there are many assignments to do. And what's worse? My laptop broke down and I can't use it for 3 weeks.

Incoming: 1st October 2014
This is that first time I received 3 mails for 3 different people in a day! I received Marcus's reply and 2 postcards from a German and Russian post crosser.

Marcus included 2 guitar picks in the mail together with his usual long messages.

Outgoing: 2nd October 2014
A postcrossing postcard to Russia.

Incoming: 2nd October 2014
A postcrossing postcard I received from The Netherlands although the postcard is a picture of Belgium. Its actually the postcrosser's favourite city.

This is the stamp used for it. Call me ignorant or anything you like. I just came to know on the same day that I received this postcard that there is actually a king in Netherlands. And the stamp is a portrait of him..

Incoming: 3rd October 2014
A snail mail letter from my Finnish penpal. She included a hairpin for me as a gift.

Incoming: 7th October 2014
Postcrossing postcard from Taiwan. Its a photo of a scene in Hualien.

Incoming: 9th October 2014
Received two postcrossing postcards.
I was really impressed with this particular one which is from Germany.
It was sew by the postcrosser herself! So neat!

This one is from Berlin, Germany.

Outgoing: 9th October 2014
I finally had the time to catch up with my snail mail letters as I finished 1 exam that day.
I don't mind if my penpal didn't decorate their letters to me. They can send me words on a normal writing paper inside a plain white envelope and I won't be complaining at all. Having to receive a mail is already good enough for me. I'm already happy like that. However, I told myself that I must decorate it somehow. Its just something I find satisfaction in. That is why my letters to my pals are usually decorated. Its not very impressive but its still something :)

Here's one to Tanja (Finland) and Marta (Spain).

As usual, I promised that I will include some Harry Potter stickers to Tanja whenever I send her a mail.

Included a face mask for Marta.
Its my first letter to her. She found me through my Instagram and asked to be penpals. Of course I agreed. :)

I also had one postcrossing postcard delivered to Germany.
Drew some snails on it because he requested it.

Incoming: 13th October 2014
I thought I will not be receiving any postcrossing postcards at the moment but look! I received two from Poland and Belarus on the same day.

Incoming: 16th October 2014
Received another one from a Ukraine girl who is currently living in China.
Its a postcard of a picture in Tibet.

The stamps used. Somehow it matches my bed sheet lol.

Outgoing: 18th October 2014
A postcard to UK.

Outgoing: 19th October 2014
At this point of time, I was postcard broke. So I had to use these DC comics postcards. I hope the postcrossers really like it.
They are to USA and Taiwan.

Outgoing: 22nd October 2014
Two outgoing postcrossing postcards to Germany and Netherlands.
The German postcrosser has an interest in collecting stamps so I included some stamps for her in an envelope.

Outgoing: 23rd October 2014
A postcrossing postcard to Japan. Its my first time mailing something to Japan and I was a little excited. And I finally had the chance to use Keri Smith's postcard again.
The postcrosser's name is Nine. Sounds really Thai to be because I know Thai always have these fanciful little nicknames for themselves like Sprite, Boy, Nam(literally means water in Thai).

Incoming: 24th October 2014
This is my first time not being able to make out what is the Postcrossing ID the person wrote. I had to apply for a search in the website and the system is so efficient! I got the answer one day later and is able to register it fast.
This is from Ukraine.

Incoming: 28th October 2014
A postcard from France.

Incoming: 29th October 2014
Received two postcards from Spain and Russia.
The one from Spain was delivered in an envelope as she included a page of a Spain magazine.

The postcard from Spain.

Outgoing: 30th October 2014
To Russia.

Incoming: 30th October 2014
From Germany.

Outgoings and Incomings for September (Part 2)

Like I said before, you may already seen the photos that I will be posting next if you followed my pen-paling Instagram as well as my personal Instagram. It will always be like this for the future outgoings and incomings blog post. The only differences are the details to it.

Outgoing: 11 September 2014
To be honest, I don't really like this series of postcards which one can get from the book store in Singapore called Popular at $1 each. To me, there's nothing really special about it. Perhaps its because I've been living in Singapore for my whole life and these pictures don't seem interesting to me.. Maybe its not for others who are not living here. Anyway, I chose to mail this to the Postcrosser from Germany because she mentioned that she likes things regarding to nature in her profile. I don't have another suitable postcard so I suppose a picture of Garden by The Bay's Supertree is a good choice.

Outgoing: 15 September 2014
Audrey Hepburn postcard to Belarus. The Postcrosser mentioned about wanting postcard of famous people so yeah.. Audrey Hepburn is famous isn't she? Haha. I wrote a quote by Hepburn at the back of the postcard too. Just hope she will like it.

Also, I mailed this postcard from Keri Smith's Everything is Conencted: Reimagining the World One Postcard at a Time book. I received the message of the Postcrosser who is from Portugal when she receives it and she mentioned that she really like the postcard. Hope she will continue this chain letter! It will be cool if it happens :)

I went to the post office to purchase more stamps on the same day and is really happy with my haul. Most of the stamps are pictures of the vanishing trades in Singapore which I find really meaningful. All these stamps cost $10.50 in total.

I also found out that the postage rates will increase from October 2014 onwards. It was 50cents for each postcard previously and it will be 60cents soon. And for the letters to those places I will be mailing to will be $1.30 instead of $1.10. Oh well, I'm not complaining but yet I feel like I am complaining. Anyhow, this doesn't stop me from continuing my hobby of snail mailing and postcrossing!

Received a Berlin subway postcard for Postcrossing from Germany. It was exactly the same one as what Georg sent me (the guy who challenges himself to collect at least one postcard from each country; you can take a look at this post of mine if you want to know more about him). So... I won't be posting the photo of the postcard again since I done it before. Here's a picture of the stamps to compensate to the photo, heh. I like the Little Prince stamp.

And finally, someone did my #jaepostcardproject task! He is Marcus, my first penpal. Those stains were created by him using chocolate, ink, balsamico vinegar cream and also driving it across with his office chair. Isn't it cool? I'm waiting for my another penpal from New York to do hers, which is to stick fruit stickers to the front of the postcard. It will take longer so it won't be done so soon.

Anyway, Marcus created a blog for his penpaling hobby too. You can check it out here: mailfuzzi.wordpress.com

Outgoing: 18 September 2014
Yeah, you already seen these postcards if you read my previous blog posts. They were my outgoings for Postcrossing to Germany and China.

Incoming: 19 September 2014
A postcard of a famous Russian painter from a Russian Postcrosser. From my experience (not implying that I had many), it seems that there are many German and Russian Postcrosser in the website because I've been receiving and mailing to many of them living there. Hope the website will generate more addresses from people in other countries the next time, although I really don't mind at all about mailing and receiving from the same countries. Just thought having a variety is nice.

Incoming: 23 September 2014
The long awaited letter from Rebecca (New York) has arrived! :) I am happy to find her mail together with Marcus's postcard lying in my mailbox when I opened it before heading out.

Marcus learned about the Keri Smith book from me and he bought one for himself too. At first I wanted to send this particular postcard to him so I asked him whether he wants to do it but I ruined his surprise because he already mailed his to me. I'm so sorry, Fuzzi! x)

Outgoing: 24 September 2014
I have the tendency to reply to my penpals on the very same night I received their mail. I will rush the reply with all my best and have them mailed the next day.

Here the postcard back to Marcus. You can see the stamps used. I think I should stock up some airmail stickers from the post office the next time I am going to restock my stamps.

This is the reply mail to Rebecca.
She likes panda so I wrote the letter in a panda decorated paper and also have it put in a panda envelope. And you guys are right, you did see a paper lantern for Mid-Autumn Festival. I know its long over, I just thought I'd share the joy of the festival with her since I purchased some paper lanterns the other day.

How I decorated my envelope. Not fantastic but I suppose its still something :)

Incoming: 25 September 2014
A Postcrossing postcard of the street map of Germany by a German postcrosser.

Yes! And this treasure that my local postal company send to every resident in Singapore to comprise with the increasing postage rates. Free stamps!

The close up shot. Actually, I really don't know whether it can be used to mail overseas.. I don't know how it works exactly so I won't be using it for my penpals letters. I may include a few to some of them inside though.

This postcard isn't for Postcrossing! It was a postcard from my Taiwanese friend whom I know from Interpals. It is a picture of the sunset from his hometown, Kaohsiung. Like him to me, I find it really easy to talk to him and I guess that is why we can keep in contact for so long.
Thanks, Bo-sheng for this postcard! :)
